Pojok Fakta . Badan Meteorologi, Geofisika, dan Klimatologi (BMKG) mengimbau masyarakat untuk tetap waspada terhadap potensi cuaca ekstrem jelang Libur Natal 2018 dan Tahun Baru 2019. Deputi Bidang Meteorologi BMKG, Mulyono Rahadi Prabowo, mengatakan kewaspadaan diutamakan pada 20-22 Desember 2018. Periode itu diperkirakan akan terjadi hujan lebat di beberapa wilayah. Mulyono menjelaskan kondisi tersebut dipicu oleh penguatan aliran udara dingin dari Asia yang berinteraksi dengan area pertemuan angin di sekitar Sumatera bagian Selatan hingga Jawa bagian barat.
