Seconds of Students Shouted by Thieves Through Mosque Speakers

Indonesia Kanal. Students from one of the private universities in South Sulawesi were killed inside the mosque after being judged by the masses. Victims were shouted at by thieves through sepiker or mosque loudspeakers.

One of the suspects claimed to have come to the scene of the crime after hearing the thief's shout from the mosque loudspeakers.

Muhammad Khaidir was killed by the mob because he was accused of stealing at the Nurul Yasin Mosque, Kampung Jatia, Goa Regency, South Sulawesi, Sunday (10/12).

The suspects beat Khaidir for allegedly stealing at the mosque, but found no evidence of the theft.

"I hit the victim's body," said one of the suspects with the initials ML as broadcast on CNN Indonesia TV, Tuesday (17/12).

This incident began when Khaidir wanted to worship and rested at the mosque. But when he wanted to enter the mosque, he suddenly shouted at a thief.

Even one of the suspects shouted at the victim as a thief through the mosque loudspeakers, so that the crowd gathered and judged him.

The mob also burned a victim's motorcycle parked in front of the mosque. The vigilante was also recorded by residents who were on location and had a chance to go viral.

The police have determined ten suspects related to the case. They were arrested in different places.

"In total we have 10 [people], the initial 7 have been named as suspects and today we have secured [three people]," said Head of Public Relations of Gowa Regional Police, AKP Mangatas Tambunan.

The dead body has been buried on Selayar Island, South Sulawesi. When dispatched to the island, hundreds of residents accompanied him. The victim's body was also autopsied at Bhayangkara Hospital.

For this incident, the police confiscated a machete and a wooden block suspected of being used when persecuting victims. At present the police are still developing cases and other actors are expected to still be able to increase.

All suspects were charged with Article 170 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code concerning acts of violence together with the threat of a 12-year prison sentence. The police also detained all suspects.
